Founded in 1987, The International Montessori Pre-school was the first of its kind in Norway.  It was established to provide instruction and activities in the English language for pre-school aged children, based on Montessori principles.

Organization

We are a non-profit, parent owned organization.
We encourage involvement by, and contributions from, parents on all levels. This includes:

• Owners Board
• Coordination Committee
• Workdays
• Attending 2 meetings annually
• Sharing your talent / culture with the children

Staff

We have 3 fully qualified Montessori teachers, and a teacher ratio of 1 teacher to 7 children:
Kelly – directress/head teacher and co-founder of the school from 1987
Hannah joined us in 1999
Elizabeth joined us in 2004
Athina, school administrator, joined us in 2001

We also encourage parents to enhance our curriculum by sharing their time and talents.

Location

We are conveniently located in Sandvika, 17km from the centre of Oslo and 10km from the centre of Asker. We are close to all public transport links.

Facilities

We have 3 fully equipped Montessori classrooms and a separate, yet integrated, art room.

In addition, we have access to a hall, which we use for movement games and activities.

Outside is our play area which offers the opportunity to climb, balance, run, jump, slide and enjoy outside games.
